This archeological site contains a necropolis that preserves ruins of an Arabian castle, used by Muslim as deportation place.

Between 1221 and 1232, Federico the Second of Svevia came back to Sicily from a war in Germany against Ottone IV of Brunswick, he fighted against Arabs, won and destroyed the castle.
