It is located in Contrada Caos, 4 kilometers from Agrigento, and it can be reached through Strada Statale 115, Porto Empedocle's way.

The house is a rural construction from latest XVII century, in a countryside quarter, near Agrigento, called "Caos".

An upland cliff on the sea, dotted by olive trees and oak trees. Ricci Gramitto, writer's ancestors, bought the Villa in 1817.

In this house Pirandello's family has taken refuge in 1867 to avoid the heavy Cholera plague that raged all over the Sicily.

During the WWII, the house was damaged by the explosion of the near American troops' ammunition depot, and in 1949 it was declared national monument. After three years the Sicilian Region bought it and started restoration work of the house and the road that linked it with the pine tree.

Rooms with country view contain numerous photographs, reviews and awards, first edition books with dedications, paintings by famous artists dedicated to Luigi Pirandello, posters of his masterpieces represented all over the world.

Periodically the House hosts temporary exhibition dedicated to Master Pirandello.

From 1987 the house was unified with the Luigi Pirandello Biblioteca.
